Adam Paquette and Orsola Carraro have collaborated since 2017 and have engaged in a shared exploration of subtle energy and artistic communication. The foundation is a durational movement-drawing practise, from which further research, exhibitions and installations emerge, responding to particular catalysts of time and place. Adam is an independent painter and a writer with a background in digital art and Orsola has an independent practice of architecture and of Yoga teaching.

Keep Moving
Berlin, 2023

A body of work to witness and celebrate transitions, those already undergone, and those to come. A navigation of the risk inherent in the imprinting of a single moment - which moment, and on which terms? An accrual of choices, equally meaningful from first to last, and lingering questions of the terminus of a work. Are finalities arrived at, stumbled upon, or elided in order to renew life through perpetual movement?

48 Hours Neukölln - Berlin, 2021

An artistic documentation of the subtle body. The space between the artwork and viewer is considered as a continuation of our research, and individual presence as a contribution to its energy. Each artwork points to the ephemeral qualities of the subtle body. Breath is a rhythmic and vital repetition; its vibration is the generative source of movement. Becoming sensitive to this force, we enter into an oscillating communication, and transfer it wordlessly into solid space.

Prana Studies
2018 to present

This ongoing body of work investigates motion in creation; Prana, which is understood as the vital principle and life-force in Yogic tradition. Contrasting slow, controlled body movement with rapid, intuitive drawing - and extending the polarity of these practices over long durations - we experience an emergent harmony that unifies them. Rather than depending on a symbolic language to visualise the flow of energy, thought is sublimated into the action itself, imprinting Prana into the drawing as an experiential artefact.
